Care guide

Viscose

Viscose is the backbone of the Masai collections, and we have worked with the material since the beginning. We love this beautiful fabric for its silk-like feel, flattering draping and breathable feature.

How to care for your styles in viscose

As viscose is made from wood fibres, it is especially delicate and also a bit fragile when wet. Always go for a full load when washing viscose so that the actual washing process is not too harsh on the fibres and use a laundry bag for extra gentle care.

Always follow the washing instructions written on the style’s care label. Use a gentle wash programme on your machine and never tumble dry. Hang the garments on a hanger to dry and iron them carefully back into shape after drying.

How to avoid creases

When using the spin cycle, use the lowest possible revolutions and quickly remove the clothes from the washing machine after washing.

Hang the clothes on a hanger when they need to be dried, and iron them into shape again when they are dry.

How to recreate the creased effect

If you want to recreate a creased effect, you must choose high spin when washing. When you hang the clothes, do so without ironing them, or simply leave them to dry lying on the drying rack.

In the video below you can see how we create the effect at our supplier in India.
